It's been a monumental year for us Stantons. We had lil Cooper and one of us turned 30. Yes, it's me...I don't feel thirty, I don't think I look thirty, but man...I am thirty. Shaun is so sneaky. He asked me if I wanted him to throw me a party and I said no. So one night we had Christmas party to go to and we were running late. Shaun was supposed to pick up the gift trade gift and forgot. He took a million years getting ready and I was huffy becasue he kept dragging his feet (little did i know people were running late!) After we left told me he forgot to get the blanket for the baby...so we had to go back. We were gone less than 15 minutes, when I ran back into grab it. I opened the door and saw a man climbing into my front closet. I, of course, said an obsenity and freaked out...just as the lghts turned on and everyone yelled "Surprise!" Not only was I surprised, I was scared spitless. You see two days before we had some construction workers at the house doing some repairs. When I saw the man (who was actually a friend) trying to hide, I freaked out and thought he was there to rob us. My thrity year old heart could barely stand the excitement. It was so sweet of Shaun and all our friends to throw a party for me. I was completely surprised! Cooper watched all the festivities from his swing with wide eyes.
Over MLK weekend I went home to Bakersfield. My sister-in-law (love ya Val!) named me as her flying companion this year and I fly for free! So me and littl
e Coop went for a weekend. He was really good on both plane trips. I am impressed at how well he travels. He didn't sleep well while I was there...but we had a great time. It was such a quick trip, I didn't get to see many people...but we got to see my fam and that is what we went for. Cooper loved all the attention and got to meet his great-grandfather for the first time. Great-grandmother gammy was in the hospital and he couldn't go in...but she saw pictures. We're headed back in March for another visit (unless Papa and Grammy talk us into a closer date).
