We did it!

Most of you probably already know this. But we are pregnant again. YEAH! And we are safely in the second trimester! Whew! We got pregnant within a few weeks of the miscarriage this summer and we are thrilled. Here are some of the lessons we learned:
God answers prayers-and sometimes that answer is no. We prayed and prayed and begged him to allow us to keep the last pregnancy, but the answer was no. It was hard to accept. But we know without a doubt that he hears us and answers our prayers!
We are not in control-I tried everything I could to stay pregnant...took medicine, shots, gave blood, stayed off my feet, did ultrasounds...etc. But ultimately, God is in control and nothing we can do will change that. We are so grateful for his infinite wisdom.
The Atonement is for all grief-even though no choice of ours brought this tragedy to us, we take comfort in Christ's atonement. While it did not remove the sadness and loss we felt, it did take away the bitterness and left us with comfort and peace.
He blesses us when we have faith-We have been so blessed to have a healthy son and feel overjoyed to have begun another healthy pregnancy. The doctors did a bunch of tests and everything looks great! They even told us they think (with 80% surety) that this baby is a girl.

We pray that Heavenly Father's will be done and that we are always willing to accept it and learn from the trials and joys that we experience. Thanks so much for your prayers and kind words (keep them coming, we need them!).
