First ER Visit

Check out the dark black sludge in her sipee cup

Maggie has officially become a big girl. She had her first ER visit this week, much to the dismay of her mama. Shaun has been out of town at a tournament. Maggie's babysitter called me Thursday morning and informed me that she found a blood pressure pill on the floor and put it in her mouth (they were trying to pick them up). The babysitter fished it out, called poison control, and then called me. I rushed over and had her in the ER in 10 minutes. She was given charcoal (which she chugged it like chocolate milk), 2 EKGs, and 3 X-rays. Thankfully, she is fine and we are all much more aware of how quickly she moves. I love this baby and am so glad she is okay. I am also so thankful for great friends who were texting, calling, visiting (thanks Miriam), brought Mags gifts, etc. I was stoic through the whole ordeal. It was not until I had both kids home that I had a major breakdown. It was such a relief that everyone was okay!

We are so glad she is ok. Everyday we pray for the safety of our children and grandchildren. Almost with out fail they are fine. I forget to Thank God the next day for their safety. I won't make that mistake again. We are also going to pray for their teachers and baby sitters as well. We love you all so much and can't wait for the next visit. Kiss them both for papa and grammy and tell them that we miss them and love them soooooo much.

That same thing happened to Sammy. He got up on the cabinet and pulled down a bottle of blood pressure medication he opened a child proof bottle (nice). We had no idea how many he'd eaten so we too rushed him to the ER. They gave me the charcoal stuff in a cup with a straw. Obviously after he took one sip he was done I told them if they gave me a syringe or medicine dropper I would "get him" to drink it but they insisted I just "keep trying" with the straw. That was the most annoying thing about the whole trip. but we too were so happy that everything turned out okay. I hope Maggie is okay!!!
